The Academy of Dental Management Consultants (ADMC) is a group of individual dental consultants. They derive their primary income from providing services to the dental profession. Some of the services they provide are: Practice Management Consulting, Office/Clinical Efficiency, Profitability Management, Marketing Services and Professional Speaking.

The ADMC formed in 1987. They are continuing to grow and merit the respect and confidence of their peers and the dental profession. If you qualify, there are many benefits of being a member of the Academy of Dental Management Consultants – such as developing relationships with industry leading consultants such as yourself.

The Purpose of The Academy of Dental Management Consultants:

To advance the dental profession by providing vision, standards and leadership. Our intent is to maximize our individual talents by learning from one another.

Requirements

Definition of a Management Consultant

Dental Management Consultants are defined by the ADMC as those individuals who derive their primary income from providing any or all of the following services to the dental profession: management of advisory services, lecturing, consulting, marketing, financial analysis, practice transitions. Membership Criteria

FULL MEMBERSHIP:

  • Membership consists of individual members, not firms, who consult with multiple clients either as an independent or corporate consultant.
  • Not less than three years consulting.
  • Sponsorship by an ADMC member in good standing.
  • Two client reference letters enclosed with application.
  • Letters must be originals on office letterhead and signed by their client.
  • Written statement of philosophy regarding their consulting services.
  • A statement of what they expect to gain from their involvement with the ADMC.
  • Payment of application fee.
  • Upon recommendation of the membership committee, the applicant will be voted into the membership of the ADMC by a majority vote of board of directors.
  • Must attend a minimum of one ADMC meeting every three (3) years.

AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP:

  • Have less than three (3) years’ experience in the dental industry.
  • Membership consists of individual members, not firms, who consult with multiple clients either as an independent or corporate consultant or is an employee of a full member.
  • Must submit statement of what they expect to gain from their involvement with the ADMC.
  • Sponsorship by an ADMC member in good standing.
  • Must complete payment of application fee.
  • Upon recommendation of the membership committee, the applicant will be voted into the membership of the ADMC by a majority vote of board of directors.
  • Must attend a minimum of one ADMC meeting every three (3) years.
  • Affiliate members have no voting rights and may not present or speak at annual meetings.
  • Affiliate members may not attend the members only session at the annual meeting.
  • Affiliate members may not run for elected positions on the Board of Directors.
  • Affiliate members may not present/speak at the annual meeting.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP:

  • An Associate member is not a consultant, but provides 80% of their business services to dentists (i.e. office design, CPA, clinical programs, etc.).
  • Must submit statement of what they expect to gain from their involvement with the ADMC.
  • Sponsorship by an ADMC member in good standing.
  • Must complete payment of application fee.
  • Upon recommendation of the membership committee, the applicant will be voted into the membership of the ADMC by a majority vote of board of directors.
  • Must attend a minimum of one ADMC meeting every three (3) years.
  • An Associate member has no voting rights and may not speak at annual meetings.
  • An Associate member may not attend the members only board meeting session at the annual meeting.
  • An Associate member may not run for elected positions on the Board of Directors.

INACTIVE MEMBERSHIP:

  • Must have been a Full Member for five (5) years or longer in good standing, who wishes to stay connected with ADMC, but is no longer gaining their revenue from the dental industry.
  • An Inactive member will pay reduced annual dues.
  • An Inactive member can only attend the general session and will pay to attend that meeting.
  • An Inactive member will have no voting rights.
  • An Inactive member may not run for elected positions on the Board of Directors.

GENERAL GUEST GUIDELINES:

In fairness to members in good standing who pay yearly dues, as well as meeting fees, guest status guidelines are as follows:

  • Guest must be sponsored by a member in good standing of ADMC.
  • ADMC sponsor is responsible for the conduct of the guest during the meeting.
  • ADMC sponsor is responsible for determining if the guest has a high possibility of meeting our membership standards at the time of attendance or in the near future.
  • General guests have no voting rights and may not attend Members Only or board meetings.
  • Guest will pay to attend general educational meeting.
  • Maximum of two (2) annual meetings can be attended prior to becoming a member.
  • Guests are not permitted to display, distribute or promote any services or products they may have or be involved in before, during or after the meeting.

CODE OF ETHICS

A. Guidelines for dealing with clients:

  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Required client disclosure: Income, finder’s fees or incentives derived from any product or service recommended to the client will be fully disclosed in advance.
  • Have high standards, display integrity and be honest towards each assignment. Never compromise quality for quantity in your work.

B. Guidelines for dealing with other consultants:

  • We will not use a colleague’s material, seminar or workbook titles without permission. Material shared will be identified, and its source properly credited to clients.
  • Members are encouraged to maintain a sense of caring and help towards each other.
  • We encourage every consultant to advise a client who is actively working with another consultant to disclose their desire to change.
